Memory Care Community Insider
A Monthly Look Inside Aravilla Clearwater
Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
This month, we proudly celebrate Irish American Heritage and the rich traditions surrounding St. Patrick’s Day, observed on March 17th. What began as a 5th century religious feast honoring the patron saint of Ireland has grown into a global celebration of Irish culture—complete with parades, festive gatherings, and plenty of green attire. Fun fact: the very first St. Patrick’s Day parade actually took place in 1601 in St. Augustine, Florida!
Reminder for all our senior residents “Don’t forget to wear green—or you just might find yourself getting pinched!” The color green is deeply woven into Ireland’s identity, symbolizing its lush landscapes and earning it the nickname “The Emerald Isle.” Green also represents luck, nature, and the playful mischief of leprechauns…so keep your eyes open, you never know who might be wandering through our community on St. Patrick’s Day!
Join us on March 17th, right here at Aravilla Clearwater, at 2:00 PM in the Promenade for a festive St. Patrick’s Day Celebration with delightful snacks. Following the celebration, enjoy live music featuring Carmelo at 3:00 PM.

“Patrick P.”
We are delighted to celebrate Patrick P. as a cherished member of our Aravilla family!
Patrick was born on March 17th, St. Patrick’s Day, making his chosen name especially fitting. Proud of his Irish heritage, he was born and raised in Pennsylvania, where he spent his formative years and graduated from Ambridge High School in Ambridge. During high school, Patrick excelled in athletics, playing running back on the football team. His talent and determination caught the attention of a scout, earning him a football scholarship to the University at Buffalo in New York. Patrick’s commitment to service and personal excellence continued beyond the football field. He furthered his education at the FBI Academy, where he served as a self-defense instructor, sharing his knowledge and discipline with others.
He later moved to Florida and became a Lieutenant with the Gulfport Police Department for almost 30 years, where he found great fulfillment in protecting and saving lives. His career reflects not only strength and leadership, but also a deep dedication to helping others. A proud father of two children and grandfather of two, Patrick finds his greatest joy in spending time with his grandchildren, who keep him laughing. He is an avid sports fan, especially when it comes to cheering on his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers.
He is a friendly face at community activities, always willing to lend a helping hand to fellow residents and staff. We are truly delighted to have Patrick as part of our community. His warmth and generous spirit make every day brighter, and we invite everyone to extend him a heartfelt welcome!
