Happy Thanksgiving!
Welcome, November! As we step into this month, we welcome a season rich in tradition, gratitude, and togetherness. This month we celebrate the cherished American holiday of Thanks giving — a time to reflect on the blessings we hold dear. The history of Thanksgiving dates back to 1621 when the Plymouth Pilgrims and the Wampanoag people celebrated the Pilgrims’ first successful corn harvest. President Washington issued the first national proclamation and President Lincoln declared it
a national holiday to be observed on the last Thursday of November. Congress later designated the fourth Thursday of November. Here at Aravilla Clearwater we have so much to be thankful for! Especially the vibrant community History Roots of Thanksgiving we share. In celebration of Thanksgiving, we invite you to our Thanksgiving lunch on November 27th in the dining rooms at 11:30am 1:30pm. Our chefs will be preparing a delicious traditional menu which includes roasted turkey, ham, sweet potato & green bean casseroles, dessert, and more. We invite you to sign up with reception as we celebrate together with hearts of gratitude. Look forward to seeing you there!
The Hymn Sing Resident Choir is Back!
We are excited to announce the return of our beloved Hymn Sing Resident Choir this month! As the holiday season approaches, there’s no better time to come together in song and spirit. Join us as we begin preparations for our joyful Christmas production, a heartwarming event filled with music, fellowship and holiday cheer.

Whether you’re a seasoned choir member or a first-time participant, everyone is welcome to be part of this special group. Now is the perfect time to join your friends and loved ones in creating something memorable for our December production. The choir will be led and hosted by our wonderful team: Vickie, Kim, Ane, and our dedicated volunteer, Charles, who brings extra passion and joy to every rehearsal. Let your voice be heard and your heart be filled. We can’t wait to sing with you!

We are privileged to have an on-site beauty salon here at Aravilla Clearwater, providing residents with convenient and high-quality hair and nail care in a beautifully decorated setting. Our talented hairstylist, Lisa H., has been serving our community since we opened in 2021 with an impressive 43 years of professional experience.
Salon Hours:
Wednesdays & Thursdays
8:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Services offered are haircuts, perms, coloring, styling, manicures, pedicures and more for men and women. She uses a variety of brand names such as Zotos, Helene Curtis, Matrix, OPI, and Revlon. Our residents leave the salon looking and feeling their best—happy, refreshed, and often transformed by Lisa’s expert touch. To secure your salon appointment with Lisa, please connect with our receptionist during regular business hours.

Resident Spotlight:
“Debra S.”
Welcome Debra to the Aravilla Clearwater Family! She is affectionately known as “Debbie”. Debbie was born in Homestead, Pennsylvania, and spent her early years in the towns of Whitaker and Munhall. A proud graduate of Munhall High School, she continued her education at a local community college, earning a degree in Social Studies. Debbie S. Her professional journey began at Moxley’s Drug Store, after which she transitioned into the healthcare field, working as a personal care aide at an assisted living facility for an impressive 15 years. Later, Debbie brought her warm and welcoming spirit to Kennywood Amusement Park, and eventually devoted her time to being the primary caregiver for her mother—a role she held with great love and dedication. Debbie is a sports enthusiast who especially enjoys football, baseball, and hockey. She is a devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and can often be found cheering them on during game days. In addition to sports, she is an avid reader, with a particular love for mystery novels. Her adventurous side has taken her on cruises to the Caribbean and Alaska. 
A highlight of her travels was experiencing the Yukon Railroad and indulging in the unforgettable all-you-can-eat midnight chocolate buffet—a dream come true for a chocolate lover like Debbie! Debbie also has a few unique and memorable moments in her life. While working at Moxley’s Drug Store, she had the opportunity to meet Hollywood actress Jodie Foster during the filming of Silence of the Lambs at Moxley’s Drug Store. She also met Major League Baseball player Andrew McCutchen on a flight—two incredible brushes with fame! We are so happy to welcome Debbie to our community. Please join us in giving her a warm and heartfelt welcome!
