A Monthly Look Inside Aravilla Clearwater
Labor Day Celebration!
Hello, September! As we usher in this vibrant month, we are thrilled to kick things off with the celebration of Labor Day here at Aravilla Clearwater. The first historic Labor Day event in 1882 featured a lively parade, a picnic, and inspiring speeches from labor organizations. President Grover Cleveland signed legislation in 1894 designating the first Monday in September as a national holiday to honor the labor movement. Over the years, Labor Day has evolved into a celebration of American workers and a joyful farewell to summer. For many, it is a cherished occasion filled with family gatherings, picnics, barbecues, and exciting retail sales. At Aravilla Clearwater, our senior residents are excited to commemorate this special day with our own Labor Day Cookout. Mark your calendars and join us on Monday, September 1st, at 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM in the Promenade and our two dining rooms downstairs. Enjoy a traditional summer cookout featuring delicious hot dogs, hamburgers, and more as we bid adieu to summer and create memories together.

National Grandparents Day!
Celebrate National Grandparents Day! Join us in honoring National Grandparents Day, celebrated in the United States on the first Sunday after Labor Day—this year, it falls on September 7th. The day was established in 1978 when President Jimmy Carter signed a proclamation, inspired by the efforts of advocate Marion McQuade. Deeply concerned about the lack of visits to nursing home residents, McQuade envisioned a day to recognize and celebrate the invaluable contributions of grandparents in our lives. This special occasion allows us to honor their wisdom, cherish their love, and acknowledge the vital roles they play in our families. On this special day, we invite you to participate in our Grandparents Photo Memory Lane activity at 10:00 AM in the Promenade. This will be a wonderful opportunity to share cherished photos and heartwarming stories about the grandparents and grandchildren who have touched our lives. Let’s come together to create lasting memories and celebrate the bonds that unite us!
