Happy Halloween!
Hello, Fall! As summer comes to a close, we welcome the arrival of fall, a season of new beginnings, renewed energy, and exciting opportunities. The changing scenery reminds us to reflect on the memories and accomplishments of the past few months while looking ahead with enthusiasm and purpose. As we enjoy the cooler weather and beautiful colors of the season, we’re excited for all that this month has in store for our community. This month, we invite residents to participate in our Door Decorating Contest! You’ll have until October 29th to decorate your door, and the top 3 entries will receive a prize. Then, join us for our Halloween Party on Saturday, October 31st, from 5:00–7:00 PM. Enjoy dinner with family and friends in the 4 Dining Rooms and Promenade, then head to the Promenade for music and dancing. Dress as your favorite character for a chance to win our Best Costume Contest, where the top 3 costumes will also receive prizes. Please RSVP with Reception by October 27th to reserve your spot and celebrate a boo-tiful evening of food, fun, and a spooktacular dance party with Louie B. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
Alzheimer’s Walk!
October is a significant month as we come together to support the Alzheimer’s Association’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s, the world’s largest fundraiser dedicated to raising awareness and funds to advance the fight against Alzheimer’s disease. Join us for a fun and meaningful walk at Poynter Park at 8:00am October 3, 2026. Walk with us as we stand together in support of those affected by Alzheimer’s and their families. Together, we can raise vital funds for research, provide hope for families, and move closer to a world without Alzheimer’s. Every step brings us closer to a cure

Community Parks!
As we welcome the season that brings cooler temperatures, it is the perfect time to once again enjoy the many beautiful parks throughout our community and neighboring areas. Spending time outdoors offers a wonderful opportunity to appreciate the beauty of nature, listen to the peaceful sounds of birds and wildlife, breathe in the fresh air, and soak up a little sunshine. Whether taking a leisurely stroll or simply enjoying the scenery, visiting our local parks is a refreshing way to stay active while creating lasting memories together. This season, our senior residents look forward to visiting some of our favorite destinations, including John Chestnut Park and Safety Harbor Park. Each park offers its unique beauty and experiences, making every outing something to anticipate. We are excited to spend time exploring these places and to create memories during our adventures together.

Resident Spotlight:
“John K.”
We are delighted to celebrate John K. as a cherished member of our Aravilla family!
John was born in Gary, Indiana, and raised in Terre Haute, where he graduated from Clinton High School in 1958. Following high school, he proudly served in the United States Air Force before attending the University of South Florida, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Accounting. John built a successful career as a controller for Schlitz Brewing Company and Pabst Brewing Company before pursuing his entrepreneurial dream by opening M & P Plating, a business specializing in industrial coatings. Today, the company continues to thrive under the leadership of his son. John and his wife have two children, a daughter and a son, and he is the proud grandfather of his granddaughter whom he adores. In his free time, John enjoyed gardening, playing tennis, working on home improvement projects, and spending time at Countryside Country Club. He has also traveled extensively, visiting Hawaii, Italy, Germany, France, and many other European destinations, as well as taking memorable cruises to Mexico, Germany, and the Bahamas. His many experiences have given him a lifetime of wonderful memories and stories to share. We are delighted to have John as a member of our community. If you see him around, please take a moment to introduce yourself, say hello, and help make him feel warmly welcomed and right at home.
