A Monthly Look Inside Aravilla Clearwater
Fall Festival!
Welcome, October! As the vibrant season of change settles in, we embrace the cooler weather and the beauty it brings. Autumn is a time for fresh beginnings, and we’re thrilled to kick off this special season with one of our most beloved traditions — Aravilla Clearwater’s Annual Fall Festival. Carmelo performs for our Fall Festival! This year’s celebration promises to be bigger and better than ever! Join us on Friday, October 31st, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the courtyard for an evening filled with joy, laughter, and community spirit. Enjoy live music that will set the perfect autumn ambiance, indulge in a delicious dinner featuring seasonal favorites such as creamy vegetable cheese soup and pumpkin pie, and explore designated areas brimming with fun games and activities for all ages. We warmly invite all of our senior residents, families, and staff to come together and share in the festivities. Be creative and come dressed in your favorite costumes! A prize will be awarded to the best costume, as voted by attendees so put on your most imaginative outfit for a chance to win.

Alzheimer’s Walk!
October is a significant month as it marks the observance of the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s, the world’s largest fundraiser dedicated to raising awareness and funds to fight Alzheimer’s disease. At Aravilla Clearwater, we are proud to stand alongside this important cause, supporting efforts to improve the lives of those affected by this devastating disease. Through our ongoing fundraising initiatives, we have made meaningful contributions to help fund critical research, provide care and support, and advocate for policies that will help end Alzheimer’s. We are excited to invite all of our senior residents, families, and staff to join us in this cause on October 4th at Poynter Park in St. Pete at 8am. The walk is about coming together as a community, walking in solidarity, and showing those affected by Alzheimer’s that they are not alone in this fight. We encourage you to gather your friends, family, and neighbors to join in. Whether you’re walking for a loved one or simply to make a difference, your participation will help raise vital funds for research and care. This is also a wonderful opportunity for fellowship and fun! Get some exercise while making lasting memories with others, all in support of a cause that touches so many lives. Let’s unite and walk together toward a future without Alzheimer’s.

Movie Nights at Aravilla Clearwater!
We are delighted to invite you to one of our most anticipated weekly events, Movie Night, held every Thursday evening at 6:00 PM in the Great Room. It’s a chance to relax, reminisce, and enjoy great entertainment in the company of friends. Each week, we feature a thoughtfully selected movie that spans a variety of genres and eras. From nostalgic classics like Back to the Future and Rocky, to more contemporary favorites such as Monster-in-Law and Identity Thief, our lineup is designed to offer something for everyone. Whether you’re a fan of thrilling action, suspenseful drama, or lighthearted romantic comedies, you’re sure to find a film that captures your interest. To elevate your viewing experience our seniors can enjoy freshly popped popcorn and a selection of ice-cold soda because no movie night is complete without your favorite snacks! So, mark your calendar, bring a friend, and join us for a cozy evening filled with laughter, excitement, and cinematic magic. We look forward to seeing you there!

Resident Spotlight:
“Diane B.”
Welcome Diane B. to the Aravilla Clearwater Family! We are thrilled to share the wonderful news that Diane B. has officially joined our Aravilla Clearwater family! She was born in December in sunny Los Angeles, California. She graduated from Lancaster High School and earned her degree from San Jose State University, laying the foundation for an inspiring career in education. Diane devoted her life to teaching, with a special passion for helping young children learn to read. She taught 1st grade for many years, ultimately retiring in 2010 from Viewpoint School. There, she became known for her care and commitment to her students—many of whom were the children and grandchildren of Hollywood celebrities. Among the families she taught were those of Wayne Gretzky, Cher, Tom Selleck, Angela Lansbury, Ross Porter (LA Dodgers announcer), and Michael Landon’s grandchildren. One of Diane’s most unforgettable moments was a parent-teacher moment with actor Sam Elliott, on whom she had the biggest crush. That meeting remained a personal highlight of her career, blending her professional dedication with a touch of star-struck joy.
Teaching children was her greatest joy, but she loved arts, crafts, collecting seashells, painting, and creating beautiful baskets from palm leaves. Her adventurous spirit has taken her to Hawaii, Lake Tahoe, Germany, Carpinteria along the Santa Barbara coast, and countless camping trips up and down the California coast in her beloved camper. Diane is the proud mother of three sons and grandmother to seven grandchildren, all of whom she adores and is an endlessly loving presence in their lives. Diane has inspired generations with her passion for learning and her generous heart. Her story is a beautiful reminder of a life well lived rooted in family, enriched by exploration, and celebrated through the joy she brings to others. Please join us in giving Diane a warm and heartfelt welcome to Aravilla Clearwater. We are so excited to have her here and look forward to the light and laughter she will bring to our community.
