A Monthly Look Inside Aravilla Clearwater

Mother’s Day Celebration!

A mother is your first friend, your best friend, your forever friend.” In honor of Mother’s Day on May 12th, we will be hosting a special Mother’s Day celebration to celebrate all of the mothers who are a part of our Aravilla Family! Champagne and cake will be served during live entertainment at 3pm in the Promenade.

We also have a few nice surprises for our ladies in honor of Mother’s Day. On May 9th, Random Acts of Flowers will be delivering over 75 floral arrangements for all of our ladies! We will also be taking the ladies out this month to an Authentic English Tea Party during our Ladies Only Adventure on May 23rd at 1:45pm. With tea hats and pearls, the ladies get to doll up and enjoy their time together!

Be sure to keep a lookout on our monthly calendar for upcoming events, celebrations, live music entertainment, birthdays, bus trip locations and more. Families and friends are encouraged to join us by signing up with the activities department at Memory Care Aravilla Clearwater!

Monthly Residential Birthday Parties

On every last Wednesday of the month here at Memory Care Aravilla Clearwater, we host a monthly resident birthday party. With cake, decorations, champagne, and live entertainment, we dedicate the time to celebrate all of our residents who have birthdays in the current month. We also recognize each of our residents’ birthdays on their special day by singing happy birthday during our daily live entertainment. They also receive a cupcake and lots of hugs! Families and friends are always welcome to join us, especially for our birthday parties located at the Promenade every last Wednesday of the month from 1:45pm-4pm. Last month we had one of our residents, Luis, turn 100 years old! If any families are interested in arranging a unique birthday party to celebrate a special number, we are more than happy to assist! By contacting our activities department, we can arrange decorations, music request, and more, to ensure your loved ones are being celebrated. Be on the lookout with our monthly calendars so you don’t miss any celebrations!

Memorial Day Cookout

Memorial Day is a day of reflection and remembrance of those who died while wearing the cloth of our nation. They instill a sense of pride among citizens and inspire new generations to raise their hands in service. It is a day to spend precious time with friends and family, but it is also a somber day of reflection. In honor of Memorial Day, we will be hosting a cookout! Hamburgers, hotdogs, cold drinks, and dessert will be offered to all friends and families who can attend. A sign-up sheet has been placed at the front desk with the receptionist for anyone who would like to participate. You can also RSVP by calling our main number at 727-260-2826 Monday-Friday between 9am-5pm. We will be grilling outside in the courtyard with the dining rooms and Promenade open for seating downstairs. The Memorial Day cookout will begin around 12pm and live music will follow in the Promenade at 3pm. We look forward to a day of remembrance and fun!

Resident Spotlight Judith “Judy” M.

We want to take a moment to recognize Judith M., also known as “Judy”, as a part of our Aravilla Family! Judy was born in New York City in 1939. She graduated from Catholic Central High School in Grand Rapids Michigan in 1957. Shortly after, Judy proceeded with her studies and attended Michigan State University for her Bachelor’s Degree and earned her Master’s Degree from Western Michigan University. Quickly after graduating, Judy worked for a program which supported adult education. She retired in 2007 and ended her career with Boeing, an airplane company, where she worked in the Missile Defense Program. Judy has 3 children, (1 girl and 2 boys) who now have children of their own, making her a very proud grandmother of 4. One of her sons lives in Germany where she has visited many times. She also traveled to Italy, Spain, Mexico, Guatemala and more. Her favorite hobbies include antiquing, going to garage sales, oenology and even genealogy! She enjoyed researching her family back five to six generations and loved researching wines, particularly French wines. Judy grew up in Michigan but moved to California in 1979. She loved to roller skate on the board walk in Newport Beach, California. She also lived in Washington DC for a few years until she retired. She moved to Florida in 2018. We want to welcome her here as a part of our Aravilla Clearwater Family. She is very smart and loves to participate in all of our activities! Welcome Judy!
