A Monthly Look Inside Aravilla Clearwater
Labor Day Celebration at Aravilla Clearwater!
Hello, September. Farewell, Summer! This month, Americans will celebrate Labor Day on Monday, September 7th. Observed on the first Monday of September, Labor Day is a federal holiday that honors the American labor movement and the many contributions workers have made to our nation’s strength and prosperity. Because Labor Day falls on a Monday, it creates the widely recognized Labor Day Weekend, when many Americans gather with family and friends to enjoy barbecues, parades, and end of summer getaways. It is often considered the unofficial end of the summer season.
To celebrate the holiday at our memory care community, join us for a Labor Day Cookout on Monday, September 7th, at 12:00pm. We’ll be serving delicious favorites, including ribs, chicken, baked beans, and more. Music will follow at 2:00pm. Join us for fellowship and RSVP with reception by September 1st. See you there!

Happy National Grandparents Day!
Celebrate National Grandparents Day on Sunday, September 13th. National Grandparents Day was established through the efforts of Marian McQuade, a West Virginia homemaker who campaigned for the holiday to honor older adults and recognize the important role grandparents play in our families. This meaningful occasion gives us the opportunity to honor their wisdom, treasure their love, and recognize the invaluable role they play in our families. Take time to visit, call, send a card or note to let your grandparents know how much they mean to you and how deeply they are loved. Your thoughtful gesture will brighten their day and yours as well, for it is more blessed to give.

Cooking Class for Our Senior Residents!
One of the featured activities we highlight each week is Cooking Class. Every Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in the Promenade, the Activities Department hosts this enjoyable and interactive experience. Families, friends, private caregivers, and staff are encouraged to participate alongside their loved ones. Our senior residents enjoy assisting with preparing ingredients and creating recipes that are both simple and delicious. Together, they have made mouthwatering nachos, delightful apple pie crescent rolls, fresh fruit skewers, and favorite treats such as mini pizzas, brownies, and chocolate chip cookies. We invite you to join us and discover what our talented resident chefs will be preparing next. The wonderful aromas of freshly baked creations fill the air, bringing smiles, sparking memories, and leaving everyone eager for another tasty experience.

Resident Spotlight:
“Anne L.”
We are delighted to celebrate Anne L. as a cherished member of our Aravilla family!
Anne was born and raised near Bay Trail in Humboldt, Saskatchewan, Canada, where she grew up on a family farm as one of twelve children. After high school, she attended School of Nursing and earned her Registered Nurse degree. Her graduating class of 1954 proudly called themselves the “Fireballs of ’54!” At age 21, Anne moved to the United States to begin her nursing career. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Phelps Memorial Hospital in Sleepy Hollow, New York, and later dedicated many years to caring for older adults in nursing homes before retiring at age 71 in Palm Harbor, Florida. Anne married in 1959 and is the proud mother of five children, four sons and one daughter, along with eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She enjoys watching hockey, gardening, cooking, baking, and playing cards, especially the Canadian game of Kaiser. Anne is known for her delicious apple pie and chicken parmesan, as well as her treasured childhood memory of riding to church in a horse drawn sleigh. She values time with family and friends. We are thrilled to have Anne part of our community. Introduce yourself and enjoy some of her quick wit and unforgettable comeback lines. You are sure to leave with a smile!
